Description
A large original oil painting inspired by Mesoamerican mythology and the Aztec god of death, Mictlantecuhtli — ruler of the underworld and guardian of the souls who journey beyond life.
This artwork was designed to exist in three different visual states:
- viewed in normal light
- illuminated under UV / blacklight
- transformed in darkness through glow-in-the-dark elements
In ordinary light, the figure stands as a powerful divine being. Under UV light, hidden spiritual energy and fluorescent details emerge. In darkness, the final skeletal form is revealed — symbolizing death, transformation, and rebirth.
Created using layered oil painting techniques combined with fluorescent and phosphorescent pigments to produce a fully transformative viewing experience.
Protected with a UV-resistant clear coat for long-term preservation.
